OOC AU Backstory
[History]
Born in Henan Province, China on February 20th, 1987 Lenalee had everything a young Chinese girl could want. She had a large family complete with an old brother. Around the time she was five something came. Something she had never seen before. A man with the ability to create fire from nothing. He burned the land - houses, farm land, even whole families went up in a chorus of screams and ash that fateful night. Lenalee had been tucked away, safe in bed when she was shaken awake by Komui. He tried to get her out but she wouldn't leave without their parents.
She ran from him, further into the house, closer to the deadly smoke. Finally when Komui caught up with her Lenalee had been witness to her parents last gasping breaths as they were burned alive. Komui yelled at her to run. Get out of the house. Just run.
And she did.
Only she discovered her ability that night and her ability as a speedster carried her too far. All the way to France, in fact. Dirty, lost and thinking she was alone in the world Lenalee wandered the streets for a time, never ever speaking a word of what she'd witnessed. Finally she was taken in after being caught stealing food and sent to a local orphanage. Luckily seeing as how she was a cute young girl Lenalee was easily adopted by a nice young couple before she was there for too long. However when her ability began to make itself known they quickly sent her back.
This became the norm every time someone decided to adopt her they would send her back. It only made her keep her silence. Finally by the time she was nine the news of her strangeness had spread to those who knew what to look for. Someone from the United Kingdom had heard that she would appear to be in one place and then suddenly was in another spot like magic. Dr. Lvellie, a well-known, rich scientist came to see her and it wasn't long before he signed adoption papers and took her home to London.
What the public didn't known about Dr. Lvellie was that he secretly studied mutations and he didn't do it in a kind way. He had dozens of mutants locked away in his laboratories to experiment on at his leisure. Freedom to walk around was a luxury, one they weren't given. It was then when she met a fellow child named Kanda and Lenalee finally started speaking again, little by little, through the walls of their jail cells. By the time she was twelve, Lenalee would only talk to a very small handful of people who'd been nice to her. It was also that year when she realized that she wasn't alone in the world anymore when a new scientist had come, her older brother.
Dr. Lvellie's visits were less and less frequent, allowing the scientists to be kinder to the mutants. Letting them out of their cells to walk around the facility. Finally Lenalee was allowed to join the organization known at the Black Order that was formed entirely of mutants and went out to search for others like them. During that time she met another friend in Lavi. In the early months of 2004 a new mutant had come to their doors to be part of the Black Order, Allen Walker. It seemed as though the Black Order had finally become something much better in the years run without Dr. Lvellie hovering over them all the time, something someone would come and join them willingly.
Later in the year they had their first mission together, to investigate the disappearance of an old German village named Hopps. There they found a fellow mutant who controlled time and made the town continuously reset whenever sleep came named Miranda. They convinced her to conquer her fears and although there were some complications with another organization made of villains who were only out to destroy them, they succeeded and Miranda finally left the empty village. Having no where else to go, Miranda came back with them to join the Black Order.
Over the years since joining the Black Order, Lenalee has heard of other mutant groups, of superheros that fight for justice and survival but only snippets. Only enough to know names and groups that have saved the world over and over again. Most of what she knows she'd gathered before she was taken in by Dr. Lvellie, overheard the scientists talking about or people on the street talking. They continued on as they were, attempting to find more mutants while battling this group of villains who have set their sights on the Black Order that called themselves the Noah. It was a mission to stop the Noah from leveling several big European sights when Lenalee was told about how several of her team had gone missing - Kanda, Allen and Lavi. As she trudged back to the lab she heard about the group called the Young Avengers. Their picture was plastered all over the newspaper stalls, news reports and Lenalee vowed that she would leave London one day to see them and never ever come back to the Black Order.
That was the moment in her history when she was dragged away from London, something of a relief to be honest. She was reunited with the few people she could actually trust and was finally away from the Black Order. Lenalee also recognized the Young Avengers team from their picture, only some of them were claiming to have another life. It took a while to adjust to that idea but she did. Maybe they just looked a lot alike. Most of the events that have happened here in Face are the same, except she believed she was a mutant.
[Personality]
Due to the history, Lenalee doesn't talk nearly as much, doesn't smile as much. And she certainly doesn't trust any easier, in fact she's become rather cut-off from most people. Scientists are a big no-no for her and she absolutely hates being locked up. If she ever got the chance to run away, she would not hesitate to take it.
[Abilities]
The ability to move, run, fly, react, think, and sense at speeds much faster than a normal human. Those with this ability also have accelerated brain activity which allows them to process sensory information so fast that everything seems to be moving in slow motion while the user moves at normal speed.
